Any fear is a tough thing to overcome. However, when your fear is based on a tragic experience or something that has caused you pain, it is often a little more difficult to get out of your head. For instance, you may have stumbled onto a bee hive when you were a child and been stung so many times that the mere presence of a bee sends you into a state of panic now. There has to be a way for you to overcome your fear of bees.
Education may be one of the things that will help you out a great bit with this fear. The more you understand about the insect, the more likely you are not to be afraid of it. Learning their behavior and what makes them act the way they do is the key to preventing something like this from ever happening again. Right now the only thought you have about them is a negative one. This may help change that perspective.
The next step in your recover is to learn what to do in case you get stung and how to avoid being stung. Maybe it is a fragrance that you wear that is attracting them or something else, but you have to learn what is drawing them near to you. You also need to understand that even if you are allergic, there are things that you can do that will alleviate this from being a life threatening situation.
Over time, you will find that the more understanding you are, the more likely you are to conquer your fear of bees. They are not the horrible little creatures that you had imagined, just another insect on the face of the earth that are trying to live out their lives. Learn to let yourself enjoy the great outdoors again and overcome your fear of bees.
