When you are single it can feel as though everyone else is in a happy relationship. Everywhere you go you are confronted with couples holding hands and kissing and it can make you feel worse. As you get older these feelings can intensify and you can develop a fear of staying single. Maybe you suspect that you have this type of fear. If this is the case here are some of the signs to look out for:
When you go out on dates you turn the conversation quickly to marriage. Not only is this incredibly off putting for the person you are out with, it is also a sign of your fear. If you are constantly thinking about getting married and talking about it you will be sending out signals of your fear.
Maybe you choose unsuitable partners just so you will not be single. This is another clear sign that you have a fear of staying single. You need to break this pattern as you will never find someone who is right for you. Acting as though you are desperate to attract a partner will not help one come to you.
Perhaps you are jealous of those people around you who are in positive and loving relationships. Once again this can send out some pretty unpleasant signals and you should work to stop this. Jealousy is not a healthy emotion and it will keep you single if you behave with jealousy around those who are attached.
Finally, if you feel that you have a fear of staying single try to remain calm. Try to take the focus off being in relationship and learn to be comfortable in your own company. Do this and you will become the kind of person that others will want to be in a relationship with.
